Yes, it is about our partners, the Honeybees. Currently they are literally hanging out in their hive awaiting the enevitable melt which will free them from their current confinement. This hive is one of approximately 18 hives located in at least three apiaries that I will be "keeping" during the 2009 season.

This location is in my garden in front of my house. While it will not be an active hive, old beekeeping equipment can add to the landscaping of any area reminding us that over 1/3 of the food we eat comes from honeybee pollenated trees, plants and other vegetation.

While the winter provides a quiet time for beekeepers and the bees, it gives us some really cool pictures of the hives.

Ok, this is a mailbox, but still pretty cool - literally and figuatively.

Company history
Established in my heart in 1973, my dreams of being a beekeeper have only been realized recently with the establishment of Belfry Bees & Honey in 2008. After 26 years in higher education administration, I've decided to turn my educational and administrative skills to pursuing and promoting the Art of Beekeeping.

Belfry Bees will be the foundation for providing educational programs and hive products that promote awareness, encourage involvement, and actively engage in a sustainable, natural, healthy life style partnering with the bees.
